A little about me……

I worked at Woodgreen Animal Shelter in my younger years and my passion for dogs in various training roles continued for the next 33 years.

Over these years I have trained various breeds of dogs in various disciplines and levels, including training some very anxious dogs, big and small, withdrawn and enthusiastic, and through this I have gained a wealth of experience.

From each dog and owner/handler I learn something new and I am receptive to further building my training methods. This instruction together with the broad range of dog breeds and owners I have worked with have helped me to continue to evolve.

I am a keen supporter of modern, science based dog training methods based on the most up-to-date scientific research about dogs, their behaviour and how they learn, and I am passionate about helping people to enjoy their dogs.

My Training

Specifically targeted towards helping handlers develop a positive and fun relationship with their dogs.

I train classes in various locations depending on the requirements of my clients. I can also train at the handlers own home/location on a private basis enabling me to construct training exercises and methods for them to use around their own location making the most of the grounds and time they have.

I do both gun dog training (private and group classes) and general obedience training (private only) for both working dogs and pet dogs.

My clients range from shooting folk, show dog owners/handlers wishing to obtain their show working gun dog test certificate, and pet dog owners who require obedience, manners and a dog they can trust at home and out and about and on a walk.

I have been training with Julie for the last 3 years, with my Golden & Flat Coated Retrievers. Her classes are fun, relaxed & aimed at all abilities. Julie knows just how far to push me & my dogs which has enabled me to compete in some working tests & to successfully do a Show Gundog Working Certificate with my Golden Retriever. In the group lessons or 1-2-1’s Julie trains to whatever you would like to achieve, be it picking up, working tests, field trials or just those who like to learn & watch their dogs work.
